Willerby Manor played host to a wonderful charity event this past week. It was held in memory of Lewin Hodgins, the son of our beauty therapist Kirsty.
To say the turn out was good would be an understatement!
What initially started as a few stalls turned into a full blown festival - from bouncy castles, a fire engine and artisan ice creams, to dance troupes and even donkey rides - it was spectacular.
The family fun day in Willerby was for the charity "Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY)" which is an organisation that helps to raise awareness of young sudden cardiac death. The total amount raised is still coming in, but it is well over £5000 thanks to all the donations and raffle prizes.
Peter Levy from Look North visited as our guest and hosted the raffle, notably he said that he had "never seen such a large raffle" before.
The community of Willerby and Hull really came together to show support for CRY.
It was a joy to see what can be done when we all work towards a good cause!
The organizers have used this day to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young to be able to heart screen 100 young people in our local area within the near future.
